Governing with people who refuse to accept the real data & lived experiences that point clearly to rent assistance & eviction prevention being the quickest, humane & fiscally responsible way to keep people from falling into homelessness is so frustrating. I'm sorry, community. You deserve better. ❤️‍🩹

Let tonight be a lesson to all of us: Make sure you have established your own, and are aware of your loved ones', advance directives.

Do you want to be awakened from your slumber when It Happens? Or do you want to find out when you awake naturally and unlock your phone? Let your loved ones know.

I’ve been thinking more about this. I think a failure to recognize that to truly follow Christ means willingness to die for others is the failure that underlies every other petty common uncharity and ordinary, defensible selfishness
can u imagine being not only a baptized christian but an ordained priest and then, when NPR asks you about the Bishop of New Hampshire's comments last week, what you find to say is "I didn't sign up to be a martyr"??

One thing I would like to NOT hear from Oregon legislators in 2026 is that the "short session" is too short to do big things. #orleg
The Virginia legislature today passed four constitutional amendments, all by day 3 of 2026 session:

—protect abortion rights
—repeal the same-sex marriage ban
—allow mid-decade redistricting
—greatly expand voting rights restoration.

These will all go to 2026 referendums.

👀 Virginia senate president pro tempore calls for turning the 6D-5R House delegation into 10D-1R in redistricting. With some colorful language regarding the commonwealth’s two Democratic senators.

Could end the week at war with Venezuela, Greenland, Iran, and Minneapolis all at once... seems sustainable.

Entire feed is alternating posts between the Portland City Council mess and Minneapolis under siege. The dissonance is a lot.

if only there had been a movement and momentum several years ago to downsize police budgets, clear out the white supremacists and de-militarize local law enforcement
The elephant in the room is that mayors and governors across the country have very good reason to question the loyalty and allegiances of the state and local police forces and that’s one of the impediments to doing anything about the current occupations

It’s beyond insane that our overarching internal security agency has spent months tweeting barely-coded messages of support for neo-Nazi groups and the entire media apparatus looks at it and says “That’s odd but certainly not part a major story that is relevant to current events, I’m sure”

Can we recall Vasquez? It feels so dangerous to have a conservative DA in the middle of all of this.
Nathan Vasquez is telling Portland residents he’s cooperating with the feds. Philly DA Larry Krasner told them to get the eff out of Philly. They are not the same.

They want different rules for different people and they always have.

They demand the right to their own personal comfort. Anyone who disrupts that - by existing as a marginalized person or allying with marginalized people - is undeserving of freedom and should be disappeared from public life.
Why was it tyranny when people were “forced” to wear masks during the early days of Covid, but it’s not tyranny when masked men with guns are demanding people comply with unlawful orders?

Why are those on the right who screamed about freedom for years so eager to give it up?
