The bottom left painting is in tribute to Stan Collins from Newfoundland, whose photograph of the Lobster Cove Lighthouse I used as a reference. Sadly, Stan passed away a month ago after a lifetime of engineering & photography.

Original watercolour/charcoal/pastel by Jennifer Annesley. A pyramidal mountain catches afternoon sun with clouds drifting in and casting shadows on a glacier fed emerald coloured lake. A smaller lake can be seen in the background, a sunny bright green alpine meadow accents the foreground. An unnamed peak & alpine lakes in a remote part of Alberta's Rocky Mountains. It took us 4 summers & a helicopter drop + 4 days of backpacking (one way) to reach this spot - was worth the effort to see and breath in such pristine wilderness.

I painted the snow scene of the track, gate, fence, cattle grid and trees first. Then I decided it needed a strong focal point so I painted one of the wild ponies on the other side of the cattle grid.

Dandelion flowers were considered a "shepherd's clock" because they reliably open in the morning and close in the evening or during cloudy, rainy weather. They also symbolise the sun (yellow flower), moon (seed ball), and stars (seeds).
