I painted the snow scene of the track, gate, fence, cattle grid and trees first. Then I decided it needed a strong focal point so I painted one of the wild ponies on the other side of the cattle grid.

Dandelion flowers were considered a "shepherd's clock" because they reliably open in the morning and close in the evening or during cloudy, rainy weather. They also symbolise the sun (yellow flower), moon (seed ball), and stars (seeds).
