Why hasn't Labour just replaced the Lords with a 2nd chamber elected by PR? Instead we have more 30 more peers nominated by Labour, Conservative and Lib Dems. A PR elected chamber would have over fifty green members based upon the 2024 election result

For those worried about cancer (following #r4today coverage) the best book I've ever read about it is 'The Emperor of All Maladies' by Siddhartha Mukherjee which explains things very well. It won't make all things well but you will be better informed after leafing through it.

It's not just social media. Looks like visitors to the US from Europe and other countries that are part of the visa waiver program will have to submit an enormous amount of data about themselves and their families, including DNA, if proposed new rules are accepted

A lot of responses like this but my point is that - very clearly! - neither the military nor the country are ready for a major actually-getting-bombed war. Aside from anything else, the British itself looks like a teetering Habsburg freakshow undergoing a deep and intense crisis of legitimacy.
