The last in my American birds series (not the last ever, just currently) is this dark-eyed junco. It's surrounded by a blossom of Autumnal leaves. I'm going to be starting a female cardinal today to add to the collection.

a) Shepherd's pie is lamb, the clue is in the Shepherd bit :)
b) The beef version is called Cottage pie
c) Onions, carrot, celery, simmer. Add beef (or lamb), brown. Add gravy. Add peas. Simmer
d) In dish, top with mash, sprinkle with cheese, 40 mins in oven

Okay, for family dinner night on Friday, Littlest-Sis-in-Law has asked for Shepherd's Pie. Not a go-to dish for me. So what should I do in this?

Say what you will about the International Olympic Committee — a truly vile operation with some of the worst humans running the show from top to bottom, as they have been for decades — but it is refreshing to watch sports without live odds on a ticker or a gazillion sports book ads per spot break.

Born 8 Feb 1925, actor #JackLemmon. Amongst many film roles, he starred opposite Walter Matthau in The Odd Couple (1968). Jack, newly separated from his wife moves in with his best friend (Walter Matthau), a divorced sportswriter, but their ideas of housekeeping and lifestyles are polar opposites.
