The debut album "Chaka" was releaeed by Chaka Khan on 12 Oct 1978.Two singles were released from Chaka, the first being her anthemic solo debut "I'm Every Woman," which would become one of Khan's signature tunes, alongside "Ain't Nobody" (1983) and "I Feel For You" (1984). #ChakaKhan

Born 12 October 1942, Melvin Franklin (nicknamed "Blue") was a US bass singer. He was best known for his role as founding member of Motown group The Temptations from 1960 to 1995. Melvin and his friend Otis became the only founding members to never leave the group. #Temptations #MelvinFranklin

Born 12 Oct 1948, Rick Parfitt, rhythm guitarist, singer & songwriter with Status Quo. He began his career in the early 1960s, playing in pubs & holiday camps. He joined Status Quo in 1967, wrote many songs for the band and remained with them for 49 years. He died in 2016 aged 68. #RickParfitt

Sorry to hear of the death of the wonderful #DianeKeaton. She made her screen debut in Lovers and Other Strangers (1970), before rising to prominence with her 1st major film role as Kay Adams-Corleone in The Godfather (1972), a role she reprised in its sequels Part II (1974) and Part III (1990).

Remembering the wonderful #JeanAlexander, born 11 Oct 1926. She was best known to TV viewers for her long running role of Hilda Ogden in Coronation Street, a role she played from 1964 until 1987. In 1984, 100s of fans sent her condolence cards after the death of her on-screen husband Stan Ogden.

So sorry to hear of the death of John Lodge of the Moody Blues yesterday. I loved the Moodies and all their albums - especially "On The Threshold of a Dream". John, like me, hailed from Birmingham, as did most of the members of the Moodies. You'll be missed John. #JohnLodge
