British bass guitarist John McVie (born 26 Nov 1945) is best known as a member of the rock bands John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers (1964 to 1967) and Fleetwood Mac since 1967. His surname, combined with that of drummer Mick Fleetwood, was the source for the band's name. Happy 80th birthday! #JohnMcVie

In the 1970 film "The Railway Children", Sally Thomsett, who played 11 year old Phyllis, was actually 20 years old at the time. She was contractually forbidden to reveal her age during production & was not allowed to smoke, drink, drive a car, or be seen in public with her boyfriend. #SallyThomsett

25 Nov 1974, UK singer/songwriter Nick Drake died in his sleep aged 26 of a drug overdose. Drake signed to Island Records when he was 20 & released 3 albums. In 2000 VolksWagon featured a Drake track in a TV ad and within a month he sold more records than he had in the previous 30 years. #NickDrake

Sad to hear of the death of #JimmyCliff today. His 1st appearance on Top of the Pops was as a guest in the audience during a Nina Simone performance in 1965. This was after a racist incident with his landlady & his presence on the show made him a local celebrity, resolving his housing issues.
