I would expect the more changeable pattern to be sunnier than present gloomy boring high pressure stalemate. So bring it on!

A pattern change is confirmed from Sunday a growing risk of rain everywhere. The weather will become more cyclonic into next week following quite a lengthy dry spell.

It doesn’t look like we’re getting an Indian Summer this year but after a v good spring and summer, it seems wrong to be unhappy.

Fog and low cloud has proved to be more stubborn in some areas, particularly in Midlands. Gloomy and cold 10C in Birmingham, however, a very nice sunny afternoon in London up to 17C.

Extreme #Arctic warmth areas 80N+ are on course to be +15C above normal this October.

Large areas of open ocean exceptionally far north which should be frozen on Atlantic side, closer to normal on Pacific side.

Atmospheric pressure widely very high 1034mb in London and 1036mb in south of Ireland the highest since early in spring. But a lot of cloud is trapped within the weakening ☀️ can’t erode it.
