It seems a lot of people who really should know better today happily believed a Daily Mail headline 🤦‍♂️
Fair play to Mollie G for reposting this 👇
Obviously the Mail headline frames this in the worst way possible. The Lancet article just suggests restaurants offer two portion sizes so people who don’t require so many calories (inc women) don’t have to pay for a massive meal they don’t need.

But this is the NHS and there are a lot more Sandie Peggies, behind the few women brave enough to put their heads above the parapet. Seven Darlington Nurses next, and Jennifer Melle. These are test cases for how far women's sex based rights have been eroded in the last 2 decades.

I had dinner early, the little quiche was lovely if a bit salty. Pastry was perfect, the 'set' of the egg just right. Due to a decreased appetite I have at least 5 portions in the big quiche so will put some in the freezer.

Day 4 of 5 on antibiotics, day one of new inhaler and I do feel significantly better. So much so I'm going to check the weather and go out for a walk tomorrow, and continue trying to get through to x-ray to book a slot. Oh and do supermkt shopping I've been putting off for 5 days due to feeling ill.

It's been about 10 days now since I last saw Ms Fluffy Black and I fear she's gone forever. She had a kind of routine where she'd be loitering by my kitchen door at dusk or would come trotting down the garden if she heard me open the greenhouse door...nothing, not a single sign of her. It's very sad

This deserves to be on media front pages, & top of every news bulletin:
UK Employment today is 75%. That's 5% higher than under Tories in 2011.

Also relevant to this:
The number of "economically inactive" has decreased by 331,000 under Labour.
603,000 *more* are employed under Labour to Aug 2025
Nice start to the week. Ten great announcements from our Labour Government. This week the focus is on young people, helping them find work/training/apprenticeships. This government cares that our kids have hope and belief of success. 👏👏👏

One 8" quiche and a 3" one now blind baking. The 3" one is because there was a bit of pastry left over from rolling out the base for the big one. Parcel's been delivered. Sun's gone in and it's like dusk already. 15 attempts to get through on phone to book an x-ray, unsuccessful. I have til 4.30pm.

I did go back to bed this morning and got another 3hrs, so everything's running a bit late now. New inhaler collected, nice taxi man. 8 attempts to get through on phone to x-ray to book a slot for chest x-ray. I don't understand why this can't be booked online. Expecting parcel so am stuck indoors.

Do you have similar issues with groups exclusively for particular age groups, disabled people, ethnic minorities, trans people etc etc? Or is it only female people you think should have no right to organise politically without people who do not share their protected characteristic? Why?

I cannot begin to tell you how good these are. There’s not much that can get me squeezing a fancy-nozzled icing bag, but I can’t get enough of these — and nor can those I make them for. Yes, they are ...

Staggering arrogance and stupidity from McDonnell. We all know what sex we are. There's no reason for men to break the law and use women's single-sex spaces. They can simply respect women's boundaries or can be told to leave. Women matter in society, law, culture, politics ... and elections!

Wouldn’t it be appalling if Farage’s Kipper and Brexit MEPs went around making legal threats at people who called them Russian stooges and then it turned out that between one and eight of them were in fact stooging for Russia? I mean, wouldn’t that be just appalling?

Well well well...the public vote on #Strictly put the two people into the dance-off whose real life jobs involve dancing and who've been the judges favourites all along...and put the three people who don't have any dance background through into the semi-finals. I like that.

It's intensely annoying to be added to a disgusting list by someone I've blocked and who has blocked me. HOW the feck is this even possible?? It's just not good enough bluesky admin, not good enough at all. Where are the implied protections of a block? It appears there actually aren't any.

Norfolk’s wildlife mystery of the year. A beaver has appeared in the wild on the River Wensum for the first time in 400 years. Somewhere there is a breached beaver enclosure, but none of the nature reserves admit to losing one! Here's the intriguing story ⤵️

I've decided to go more minimal with Christmas decs this year, and can't face unravelling the lights although I did carefully wind them around a cardboard tube before storing. There will be scented candles dotted about. I have a lot of old cards to sort through, a quiet job. Still lacking energy.
