I don't know, man. I'm broadly out of touch with considering the "fanbase" of anything when evaluating a work anymore. I'm sure you can find a collective of fans for anything who are annoying or awful, but they're not in the room with me and I'm not going to go looking for them.

I buy physical so I can actually own my copy without some corp taking it away, or being unable to download because servers have crapped the bed.

Reposting on here but 3 years ago my girlfriend got me a copy of Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and I tried playing it after beating Legends Z-A and it straight up does not work. I tried it on 3 different 3DS’s and it didn’t work. Turns out 3DS cartridges just don’t have a long life and I got unlucky.

This might be a bit wild to say, but unironically this is why I hate when people go "oh well stop doing romhacks because shutdowns" because the romhacking scene and mods are the closest we have left comparable to shareware. Some indie devs literally start with romhacks and custom maps ffs
It's kinda wild how we had the Shareware Scene, which was our equivalent of the Doujin scene, but everything there got gobbled up and folded and basically became the companies we have making AAA games now. You got recruited, or pushed out, so there is this big "culture" gap

Not only that it came less than a minute after focusing on a child with her mother. Steam has notably denied NSFW vns in the past because there was a child as part of the cast unrelated to any NSFW material. If you're big enough and not anime the kid can be standing 5 feet away from an orgy I guess
It’s not Larian’s fault but it chaps my ass that because they’re Larian they can have a trailer with a full on orgy in it in the middle of the Game Awards and meanwhile adult content in games everywhere else is getting cracked down on left and right.
