Yes, this is particularly fucked up and sadistic, but also a perfect distillation of American attitudes as a whole toward immigration. Exploit them for their labor, steal the little pieces of their culture you find acceptable, and the moment you've gotten what you want, remind them of "their place"
One of the stories that makes me the saddest out of this ICE invasion is one out of the Minnesota Star Tribune today about ICE agents eating at a little Mexican restaurant in the small town of Willmar, Minn, —and then, when they were done, arresting some of the workers.

Good thread about actual community action you can take against ICE.
Getting a lot of messages. A lot are like "Can I come help?" (appreciated, but unless you know the area very well, probably not THAT useful) or "Can I send money?" (not to me, please).

Maybe the most "I am uncomfortable when it's not about me" reaction to this. Making this place streamer friendly will in fact bring a decent audience and help with migration. Helping people who run a business run their business is a good thing.
