When I wasn't happy with big law, I built my own law firm to protect democracy.

When I saw what corporate overlords were doing to the media, I decided to build Democracy Docket. But I need your help for it to grow and thrive. Support its 22 person team by becoming a member today. hubs.ly/Q03CbHTt0

why are there rarely articles written about liberals in red state urban centers (e.g. Salt Lake City) being gerrymandered into some rural conservative representative?

I wrote this a year ago and it hit a nerve. It is still relevant today:

Each time I have sat down to write something I am bothered by this recurring phrase that I cannot get out of my head. So, this week I am going to just say it out loud: we are on our own. www.democracydocket.com/opinion/we-a...

not something you ever want to hear from past CDC leadership, but it’s the truth
His view on the future is pretty bleak. He thinks much of what public health has achieved in the US will be dismantled:

As someone who works in the tech industry--absolutely.

They are testing the waters. These are top-down orders. The ONLY way to stop it is a visceral negative reaction. Write articles. Post your rage. Email. Post. @. All those things.

Only you have the power to kill it.
Let me give some insight on this, as a producer in the dub industry who worked with major streamers, who's witnessed first-hand where this push for AI is coming from.

tl;dr: Only CEOs want this. Tell them how much you hate it. Be loud, email, call, @, post. You will kill this.

The only thing less human than these AI dub performances is the decision to sign off on them

A company this big can pay human actors a decent wage, not produce slop that intentionally removes the human element.

"Never spread the lie in the headline" should be a hard rule of 21st century journalism.

Research shows that repeating lies helps to spread them, and people read headlines more than they read stories.
News media has to do better with headlines that present false and unverified public health claims.

This is more than just a list of those paying tribute.

It is a list of the people and corporations who paid for the demolition of the historic East Wing of the White House.

They’d love to disclaim that, but Everything Trump Touches Dies™️, and they knew that going in. Everyone does. #ETTD

At least they're proving to us that their understanding of "free speech" is the same as Charlie Kirk's understanding of it.

You're free to agree with them, but if you disagree, or even if you just quote them back to themselves at the wrong time -- they will punish you for speaking freely.
We are at the point in the honoring-Charlie-Kirk's-memory cycle when faculty are being fired for posting, without comment, Charlie Kirk's words. At the behest of politicians sworn to uphold the first amendment, and in public institutions covered by first amendment protections.

A friend of mine was on Charlie Kirk's "watch list" of Black professors. She received so many death and rape threats that her university offered her a security detail for the walk to class.

This is Kirk's legacy.

You would never know it from reading all of these legacy newspaper op-eds about him.
