Every time it seems like maybe Donald Trump made a reasonable decision, question it. It's never actually reasonable.
So getting rid of the penny, like so many other Trump era decisions, actually makes things worse in the long run. Yes we'll save the money we would have spent producing pennies, but we have to make more nickels now, which cost us even more money to make, so we're worse off now than before.
