It is the weekend before Thanksgiving - a perfect time to pick up any last-minute safety devices such as smoke alarms and fire extinguishers.

This! (Though I also remain reasonably skeptical that our current government can reliably certify this tech as safe and effective [also as a QA person])
and this is why waymo is a labor issue, not a tech issue! it's going to be taking money out of the pockets of rideshare drivers and putting it solely in the hands of big tech
As a QA person, I would be more comfortable in a Waymo than any other vehicle that promised any sort of autonomy.

They trained on some of the more difficult streets in the nation, and now they are broadening out to see what other factors affect the reliability and safety of their operation.

Who decided that hold music should be a thing, and more importantly, who HEARD the result and went "yep, that's exactly what people need".

A Very Correct list of the best theatres in town!
A very weird list of the best Twin Cities movie theaters (AMC?!?) was just featured on a local podcast, so I figured I’d give you the ACTUAL definitive list. From me. Because I’m right.

This! Also, I had a neighbor who was "fed up" with Frey (and was very anti-Fateh). I tried my best to sell them on Davis and Jazz but then saw a large Frey sign pop up in their yard a few days later. I think some people also just dislike change more than anything.
we're baffled by people ranking both frey and davis, but to plenty of voters, this choice makes perfect sense

Hi Minnesotan Bluesky:

The DFL has a well-known transphobia problem. I'm organizing to change the party platform in 2026 to be explicitly supportive of trans people in Minnesota. This will provide a basis for expelling transphobia from our party.

I don't think we'll productively "figure it out for next time" if we aren't centering our conversations around combating the Strib and PACs. Conversations around policy being the nail in the coffin "to learn for next time" but omitting the greater threats seem self-congratulatory to me.

Fateh got people excited to participate in the entire process, faced extreme vitriol locally and nationally (all the isms) but ultimately was "not the most viable candidate" & all of that labor should have been enthusiastically transferred to other candidates who stayed under the radar. Boo.
Why isn't it a sign of his viability that more folks donated to Fateh, volunteered for him, and in fact voted for him? Isn't is possible that more people preferred his policies? Do you think that, if Davis was viewed as a genuine threat, that the Frey Media Apparatus wouldn't have turned on him?

I know I already re-posted this, but given they just called the race for Frey, it bears repeating over and over and over again.

Frey didn't win because we in MPLS like him. He won because the GOP helped him stay there.
GOP realized years ago they’d never successfully run a Republican for Mpls mayor so they just bought Frey.
