Pinned
Over on the bad place, I started a pinned thread inspired by hitting my 65K issue milestone in my comics collection. Now at 85K, I've decided to rescue that thread and bring it over here.

Here are some highlights of my collection:

Pick up Jeremy's books. You won't be disappointed.
It's Christmas shopping time and people are looking for books for kids and teens, so let me do a little station ID and talk about what I do. Quotes and RS appreciated

The numbers haven't improved and I'm just going to leave it at that for now

There are a lot of systemic reasons for this that aren't going to change anytime soon so for 2026, since whatever ladder I could be climbing has been pulled up, I'm going to be working on building a jetpack

The war on science continues. America continues to backslide into the dark ages because morons who spent all their time cutting class and barely passing are now in positions of power over education.
Heartbreaking. The University of Nebraska will terminate its entire Earth science department.

One of the country's most successful and respected geology & climate programs: gone.

When ideologues & politicians are threatened by the very act of studying climate change, I wonder: who of us is next?
It's over.

Despite the fact that the academic council recommended against it, despite the fact that the program brought in more tuition than it cost, and despite the fact that Nebraskans need & deserve this expertise, Earth & Atmospheric Sciences will be cut.

The DOJ is reportedly going to block the Netflix/WB merger.

If that's true, 10-to-1 it's so their buddies at Paramount can swoop in.

I've stopped going to theaters for a variety of reasons. But some movies genuinely hit best on the big screen and surrounded by an appreciative audience. Streaming will NEVER duplicate that, and will never achieve that same level. Convenience is all they have to offer.

How to buy yourself a needy malignant narcissist? Just offer him a phony, made up "Peace Prize" & he's all your's!!!
No need for a formal ceremony as he'll snatch from the box & put it on all by himself. Both laughably pathetic AND pathetically laughable. 🤡 🫣

I am not a Democrat.

I will also for shit sure NEVER be a Repuglican.

I think the strict adherence to these party designations has done more to create the political divide we face now. People treat them like separate sports teams, but we ALL get affected by what they do.

Repuglicans are trying everything to stay in power. Democrats aren't perfect, but it's about time they start fighting dirty.

I'd just as soon abolish BOTH parties and limit them to being ONLY for organizational purposes in elections, but for now these are the games we need to play.
BREAKING: Virginia Dems just responded to SCOTUS letting Texas Republicans use their new gerrymandered map, by unveiling a new Virginia map that takes away FOUR Republicans seats. 🤷🏽‍♀️ MAGA started this... and they ain't gonna like how it ends. 😁

Truth: there’s a lot more of us than ‘them.’

Enjoy. 😎✨
