Lynnvander eventually finished and released the Evil Dead 2 board game to backers, with a second printing being crowdfunded in 2025, and an OOP omnibus saw retail release. But SGP's Evil Dead 2 universe remains an obscure little curiosity in the ever-growing Evil Dead universe.

Despite their series' modest success, SGP ended up losing the license and fans' respect when their two Evil Dead 2 Kickstarter projects ended up never being fulfilled. The company largely went dormant and upcoming comics were cancelled.

A trilogy of mini-series follow Faux Ash and Annie as they battle Deadites and collect their spiritual energy. Following that was a series of one-shots where Faux Ash took on Necronomicon-powered Hitler, Dracula, Jack the Ripper, Krampus, Martians and Annie's deceased boyfriend, Ed.

Defunct indie publisher Space Goat Productions acquired the Evil Dead 2 license and began making comics that served as a direct sequel to THAT film (Dynamite was doing Army of Darkness). Annie Knowby escaped from Hell and used the Necronomicon to grow her own Ash from Ash's possessed hand.

DID YOU KNOW: There was an adjacent Evil Dead universe in comics that began in 2015? While the real Ash was battling Deadites in the 1300s, a SECOND Ash grown from his severed hand was running around playing hero in the present.

Early on I wasn't into indie books, but I'd always end up with some. I got Comics' Greatest World Motorhead & Titan from a gift bag at a party I attended. Knew absolute nothing about Dark Horse's universe here. But Titan always stuck in my mind because of these panels:

Right? I knew NOTHING about the Infinity Saga, so imagine reading this and seeing THIS stuff? It was WILD.

Somewhere in my warped brain, I came up with the idea of Spider-Pig. Then I came across Marvel TAILS and learned one already existed--Spider-HAM. Oh well. The novelty of seeing the Marvel U in animal form was fun, although I don't think they often handled the humor of the stories well.

Before Marvel took their toys and went home for the next 20 years, they allowed one more crossover between Spidey and Red Sonja--now published by Dynamite. A pseudo-sequel/expansion of the MTU story I mentioned above. I was amused at the novelty of it arising some 26 years later.

Similarly, my first exposure to Red Sonja was Marvel Tales #208. Hadn't read any Conan by that point, and since the movie bore no resemblance didn't make the connection. All I got was a story where Mary Jane suddenly became a warrior princess.

My introduction to Captain Britain came with this two-part guest spot in Marvel Tales #201 & 202. I also didn't realize the nature of Marvel Tales until I came across Marvel Team-Up #65 & 66 later on. Almost passed them up thinking I already had them. Good thing I didn't!

Based on 2 Corman produced films. Was better than both, I feel, but still your typical 90s superhero cheese.
