None of the problems of vaccines, disease, poverty or anything else, are unaffected by climate change. We do not live in a vacuum. It is all connected. We have reached the end of the leeway that we had for making these horrid, cruel, profit driven decisions.

A reminder that change.org petitions have zero impact on politicians in Canada (or anywhere really). It's basically performative engagement.

Only www.ourcommons.ca petitions have any weight whatsoever.

In the midst of some science writing, my headphones were filled with the evocative voice of @kdlang.bsky.social singing her way through "Absolute Torch and Twang". I was swept back to my youth in southern Alberta - so far away in place, time, & life experiences! Thanks KD!

The Primary Energy Fallacy is the idea that all primary energy from fossil fuels must be replaced with equivalent amount of clean energy.

BUT: Not necessary because >2/3 of all primary energy is lost as waste heat.

Electrification+renewables are far more efficient.

A new peer-reviewed paper argues EVs will spur clean power development as their growing electricity usage will drive power companies to turn to the cheapest forms of generation — wind, solar, and storage — to meet demand.

I was at a bar tonight and of course brought MILFs for Mother Earth zines with me. I put them out on the table and someone picked them up and starting handing them out to people they knew.

Put another W on the board for science communication success by getting kinda stupid with it.
I went into goblin mode last night and completed what is for sure the most unhinged zine I have produced to date.

I'll fold some up tonight and put them around and see how people react lol

I tried to make a poster that was like, approachable, inviting, cute-bad, and I'm afraid what ended up happening is that I just created a mess lmao but I'm TRYING ok.

Come to my event there's gonna be free beer. I had that on the poster but it looked too cluttered.

RSVP, it's FREE.
