America's founders put a lot of effort into preventing a despot from seizing control. There are a LOT of guard rails designed to prevent it. However, the radical republican right has spent decades chipping away at those guardrails, bit by bit, until we are careening off the road.

Wall Street wants to "privatize" Social Security so they can gamble with our money as they suck a fat profit margin in fees and commissions from your retirement savings. And we’ll end up with less money when we retire.

Decades of bitter experience show that tax cuts for the wealthy don't grow the economy, 'cuz it is hoarded. However, money given to the working class does bring economic growth because it is quickly spent on the necessities of life. "Trickle-down economics" is a big fat lie.

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home was released on this day (Nov 28) in 1986. The film had originally been planned for release in mid-December. The studio believed this would allow it to maximize earnings because the film would be in theaters during the Christmas holiday.

BTW, I recently learned that Mr. Carlson was right. Apparently, turkeys CAN fly, even if they're a little clumsy. So if you look carefully at the graphic, you’ll see them finding their wings and taking flight.
