In my adult life republicans have tricked democrats into following them right and this feels like the first time that democrats have had enough victories far enough left to force a couple of them even one millimeter back toward the middle

I hate the trope in stories where someone is a bad dad and husband but he does ONE heroic thing and is a big hero and everything is fine.
Like there probably won't be a big moment where you fight a dragon or a terrorist.

WHOA. Trump says he will pardon Juan Orlando Hernandez, who once said that he wanted to “shove the drugs right up the noses of the gringos.” He had people killed as part of his narco-trafficking ring, which he at times operated directly out of his presidential office.

I don't wish this job on anyone, but someone should do a history of how Trump's social-media pronouncements get particularly rageful/hateful/insane on holiday weekends. Maybe there's something about being alone while others celebrate, or vague, in-and-out awareness that he's waning and hated, etc.
