A worthy purchase. The show has a pretty infamous last season due to production moving shop overseas, but TALES FROM THE CRYPT is proof positive that horror was successful and popular into the '90s before SCREAM dominated discourse around the decade.

A fair point. But when the killer is someone with a genuinely sadistic personality and massive ego like Freddy or Ghostface, it really adds to the final confrontation. Would love to see someone roast Art The Clown.

Rewatching the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET movies, one thing I wish slashers would bring back is the lead verbally taking down the killer. Emphasizing that for all the people they murdered and any power they have, they're still a pathetic asshole. Wes Craven really had a knack for that in his works.
