honestly tired of trying to convince people that trump's immigration policy is not really about violent undocumented immigrants or even just undocumented immigrants, but immigrants in general and even non-white people more broadly.
cool, cool. so we are sort of like citizens, but not really?

Seems like the party that has allowed for killing, kidnapping and war without consequence is the same party responsible for government shutdowns and lack of funding agreements.

Dems have their own guilt but this isn’t it.
Note the framing here:

It’s “Democrats have refused to fund” DHS and not “Republicans refused to prohibit face masks” or “the two parties could not agree on how to reform the agency.”

Glad this was the decision but like people with money, rules don’t apply (they just pay the fines and keep doing what they do).
#GoodNews: Portland is upholding its land-use violation against the South Macadam ICE facility.
The city found detainees were held overnight
or beyond the 12-hour limit at least 25 times.
ICE must fix it by March 16—or face monthly fines and a lien.
Accountability matters.

It becomes clearer every day how advanced civilizations of the past just up and disappeared…
Scoop: The NIH infectious-diseases institute (NIAID) will soon scrub “pandemic preparedness” and “biodefense” from its web pages, according to e-mails I obtained.

The directive is the start of a broader shake-up at NIAID, which has long been attacked by Republicans.
Exclusive: Key US infectious-diseases centre to drop pandemic preparation
Staff members have been instructed to scrub this topic and ‘biodefense’ from the agency’s website.

A cab
“regular person”
"'She is dead,'" Officer Auderer told Officer Solan, before bursting out laughing.

"'No, it’s a regular person,' Officer Auderer said, adding: 'Yeah, just write a check — $11,000. She was 26, anyway. She had limited value.'"

this is comically evil. brazenly anti-social. just absolute black-pilled nihilism. we will not have a republic, we will not be free, until we regulate these companies to the point where — at a bare minimum — they're too afraid to put stuff like this down on paper.

If Moderna is no longer bringing vaccine trials for Epstein-Barr virus (good evidence that EB causes Multiple Sclerosis), herpes, and shingles because of Trump appointees, I want prison time for those appointees.

This might be dooming millions to disease they don’t have to experience.

For living in a ‘cancel culture’ we sure don’t cancel anything but sense and rights.
An "accidental" tattoo is getting a tattoo in your late teens/early 20s that you think says "love" in a foreign language but actually says "cunt"

That's cringe but we all grow

Not getting a nazi tattoo.

What? A crazy ‘concern’ told to control women was a lie?
A new study has shown that miscarriage or induced abortion is NOT a potential risk factor for breast cancer, contrary to continued anti-choice propaganda. Even several abortions or miscarriages does not increase risk. The study used high-quality Finnish registry data.
Prior abortion or miscarriage not linked to increased risk of pre- or postmenopausal breast cancer
A prior abortion or miscarriage was not linked with an increased risk of developing pre- or postmenopausal breast cancer in a study published in Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica.

ICE is a reminder that the reason why 15 states once passed laws making it illegal to wear masks while armed was as a direct response to the racist terrorist actions of the Ku Klux Klan.

Breaking on MSNOW right now: the DOJ is tracking the search histories of Congresspeople in the unredacted Epstein files, and Pam Bondi is using those search histories in her Burn Book today.

This is surveillance of Democratic lawmakers as the review the Epstein files, and it is chilling.

I guess it shouldn’t be a surprise that the institutions that created the mess we are in are falling into full corruption but I guess I keep thinking not everything is so easily corruptable. Silly me.
Gallup and its chair, Jim Clifton, have long postured as non-partisan, but this move is a distinctly partisan in this environment.

Like so many other institutions, Gallup is destroying brand integrity in the service of fascism.

I really do think this is an excellent metaphor for the moment.
I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.
