My melanin deficiency makes it improbable that I'd be asked such a question by the ICE officer.
If you’re walking down the street and an ICE officer demands to see your papers, what do you show him?

Mind you, ICE fascists tried to criminally prosecute someone for throwing a sandwich at them. Now, they have ZERO problem repeatedly and heavily pepper spraying peaceful civilians conducting their civic duty of peaceful protest. We call them fascists because they act like fascists.

The Topton N22 motherboard is the star of the #DIY #NAS: 2026 Edition. It's quite fantastic how many features are present at its price.

It has drawbacks--they're almost all related to the number of PCIe lanes (9), but they're mitigated for a NAS

Prices--especially RAM and SSDs--have risen so much that I almost didn't build a #DIY #NAS this year. But I built it anyways out of concern that these pricing issues will persist.

The #DIY #NAS blog made it to the front page of page of Hackernews.

My self-hosted comments initiallyweren't configured well enough to withstand HN's attention!

It's fixed now. Now I'm going to mark off the "survive an outage" on my holiday bingo card!?🦃🥧

The rising prices every component that went into the #DIY #NAS: 2026 Edition made me want to skip building it the hopes that things get better. But I'm not entirely convinced that things are going to get better.

My auction of this DIY NAS build might be your best deal: www.ebay.com/itm/12752716...

I was a doctor in pre-ACA North Philadelphia.

Let me be clear: administrative violence like undoing the ACA *kills people.*

Illnesses like high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer & heart disease linger untreated for years.

Then people get super sick and die preventable deaths. It’s devastating.
Called my congressional rep to tell them to fix the ACA subsidies before approving any deals.

Called my NY state senators and left an earful on their voicemails.

Sent in money to our local food bank.

Now going to make some cookies and shake off this political hellscape.
