Last one out before home. Moody skies, sleet showers, covered in mud and the final mile for a wheel that’s needed replacing since Bath. It’s been fun old girl.

Cyclist turns down trans exclusionary honour for woman cyclists (and you can feel the BBC’s teeth grinding about it).

"If they don't want to ride with all women, then it's not the kind of ride I want to be part of".
Woman refuses Cycling UK award over trans women being left out
Claire Sharpe says she disagrees with Cycling UK only naming biological women in their top 100 list.

When you leave in a car you’re thinking “what’s the fastest way to get there?”

When I leave on my bike I’m thinking “what’s the safest way to get there?”

We are not the same

“Chicago is where I was born and raised. And honestly, biking just makes me feel at peace. I'm usually not the most calm person - when I'm biking though, my mind is centered. I can pay attention to my surroundings. It's kind of like a meditation for me.” 🧵

We still have a ways to go in winning more popular support for bike lanes, but what Michelle Wu's beatdown of Josh Kraft showed us is that bike lanes simply aren't a motivating political issue for most people. I hope this is something that will give leaders more backbone when facing opposition.

Public transport often treats bikes as a luxury—or worse a competitor—but without them leaves revenue on the table.

For 25 years, the Dutch have extended the reach of their railways through investments in (300,000) parking spaces and (25,000) shared bikes. The result? A doubling of train ridership.

I am SO excited about this! The @mplscargobikelibrary.com pilot program has been SO successful.

In 6 months we:
-trained 80 members, who collectively rode over 4,000 miles
-doubled our locations (1 to 2)
-quadrupled our fleet (3 to 12 bikes)
-brought on several volunteers
-got a grant for 2026!
