Why are some liberals turning Charlie Kirk into a martyr for liberal democracy?
Holding him up as a champion of dialogue paints him in a false light to millions who might only know him in death, writes Lindsay Beyerstein.

My latest: Charlie Kirk was a gutter bigot who built his career on censorship and bussed insurrectionists to the Capitol on J6. Why are liberals like Ezra Klein trying to paint him as a paragon of reason and dialogue?

The problem isn't that they caved for a promised vote; the problem is that the vote will be a meaningless gesture impressing no one but Senate Democrats.
It will fail. ACA beneficiaries will suffer considerably as a result and there will be no consequences of any kind for Republicans.

Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

The Democrats just won a blowout election, the polling shows that the public blames the Republicans for the shutdown, Trump was freaking out and demanding the GOP abolish the filibuster, and now they quit with nothing to show for it? Absurd. Pathetic.

Now Trump is trying to bully states into TAKING BACK payments they already made to families.

Historically, the theory that you reach the masses by running to the center is built on a candidate who won 43 percent of the vote in a three-way race

It's not a coverup, it's happening out in the open and people refuse to get mad about it.
So the oldest person ever to become president keeps falling asleep in his office during public events and there’s no big public discussion on how this is a coverup or how republicans are lying to us about how this government is running?

So literally the only thing this SCOTUS might be unanimous telling Trump he can't do is stop Christian people from praying. Gorsuch? Barrett? Thomas? They might even get Alito.
A lawless regime is oppressing innocent Christians! Call Marco Rubio! They may have to re-invade Chicago and root out the anticlerical thugs who are preventing prayer.
