Those experts were apparently too fucking stupid to know that the "wisdom" that people tend to become more conservative as they get older is because they USED to have accrued some wealth and investments as they get older.

Us millenials did not get that.

Cycling is good for:

You,
The Environment,
The Economy,
Traffic,

yet every fucking council in NZ is hell bent of ignoring the fact, or doing the bare minimum

Unless you denounce your transphobic uncle at the table or yeet them, then you are all transphobic as well

Deborah Russell's back again today posting her trivia game results but still nothing to say about Labour's lack of support for trans kids
She's back posting this morning but still no response to the questions about why there's been nothing from the Labour Party.

Happy fucking OCR day I guess 🤷‍♀️
Anyone seen anything from the Labour Party proper or are they just ignoring us in the hope we'll go away?

Can't see anything about Nicola Willis' latest fuckery in the news media today.

If she were a brown left wing woman it would be wall to wall tabloid coverage for weeks.
again, any other government doing this would not have had a moments rest from nz media, their public lives made almost impossible and been hounded out of government

this coalition is being given the most cover and support, maybe in nz history, by media and institutions
I do not know off the top of head what is in the oath an incoming government makes to the Governor General, but it seems like passing legislation you actually think is bad should be some kind of breach of it

It's now in the court record that powerful people use Snapchat to groom minors, solicit objectionable images & rape children

So do we get to revisit certain MPs playing the "i'm so innocent, Snapchat is just a social app" line? Because that discourse directly led here

but the fact AI has been directly implicated in suicides *should* ensure that it’s ruled out entirely in this space, especially given the lack of resources currently

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

Dear NZ Labour,

Everyone hates National right now, and a big part of that is their coalition with ACT and NZF, so I'd suggest you get very on board with the Greens and hope that you don't need to touch Seymour or Peters with the shitty end of a very long stick.

1 speech for the budget
3 obituary speeches
No speeches of any type at all between 22 May and 16 October

92% of the seats in parliament were against the law that passed, 98% of submissions were against it.

This is not how democracy should work ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Our elected representatives are there to represent us - incredibly maddening.

National and NZF should both be punished by the electorate.

Hang on, is this about NZ or the USA?
This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in the donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat

We must get big money out of politics.

It is the root of our dysfunction.
