Wow - this guy must be really, REALLY bad with money if an extra £208 per month will “ruin” his retirement.

Let’s take a look at his situation based on what he told the @Telegraph

Because this does NOT add up!

No, this is not a “poor pensioner” scrabbling around for pennies…

The last sentence might sound like semantics, but it's important. Govt spending adds cash to the economy (we get richer) and Govt taxation takes it away again (we get poorer).
Govt 'borrow' by creating cash and spending it.
The more $ Govt spend, the more $ we have to pay taxes. A simple truth.

Warm homes are not aspirational.
Affordable food, power and rent aren’t aspirational.
Health and social services that centre health and people are not aspirational.
These are not inspired ideas. They are basic, 101 hallmarks of a functioning country.
Leadership that gets that *would* be inspiring.

Not only is this blatantly unfair, but for a Party that doesnt believe in collective responsibility, theyre holding ALL children responsible for the actions of others...

So… the Police Minister never heard about McSkimming, the PM never hears about anything and this guy never heard anything about his portfolio either.

What a bunch of incompetent twats - or perhaps SITTING ON A THRONE OF LIES is more accurate.

Hipkins can squeeze a negative out for everything. Going to electrify voters to vote Labour 🙃
can labour kick hipkins already lol

like... he's been more supportive of ACT and NZF MPs than this

AND we're well past the point where Labour should be kicking itself in the face over this stuff - Wood, at the very least, has done his time

Labour leader Chris Hipkins says Wood will need to rebuild trust before he could take up any role in a future Government, but he could have a lot to contribute.

I do not know off the top of head what is in the oath an incoming government makes to the Governor General, but it seems like passing legislation you actually think is bad should be some kind of breach of it
