I came out as trans when I was 15 (19 years ago) after a childhood as the girly one in all my friend groups. I didn't know any other trans people. I worked out my transition largely on my own with support from my mother. I didnt really know how to look but the internet mostly gave me information 1/6

Yesterday my partner and I counted all the ads along Chicago's Brown Line for "Friend," a company selling an AI chatbot pendant, and tallied how many of those ads were defaced.
Still working on a longer piece on this, but here's the quick and dirty: we counted 104 "Friend" ads total, 42 defaced.

This is also literally why so many trans people fit stereotypical presentations; we were forced to by the medical establishment. Even the would-be butch/tomboy trans women were forced into dresses and skirts under threat of losing access to necessary healthcare.
I really need cis people to understand that for decades access to trans healthcare was about presenting and pandering in a very narrow, exact and specific way to meet a cis doctors fetishistic projections without them claiming it is instead your fetish.
