This thread is so crucial for anyone dealing with ME/CFS or anyone who thinks they might have it.

Also so helpful for anyone who loves someone dealing with ME/CFS.
Something I think people really don't understand about ME/CFS vs other fatigue illnesses is how the fatigue symptoms can be delayed for us, and how they accrete, like katamari damarcy.

We do feel exhaustion upon exertion, often much faster or with less effort than others expect. This is true!

"Even when tests look normal" is the bane of our existence. Tests available to most doctors look normal. The doctors can see nothing wrong and Dx something nonsensical. Yet we are very ill. Some of us have been sick for more than half a decade. More people get long COVID every year. We need help.

Potential broad-spectrum antiviral. Shows efficacy against some of the worst shit. Utterly amazing news.
We're close to the world's first-ever broad-spectrum antiviral. In a breakthrough, researchers at the City University of New York have identified a promising path to the development of an antiviral that could be used to fight a wide range of deadly viruses, including future pandemic threats.

RFK Jr. says there’s not enough evidence to prove vaccines don’t cause autism.

There’s also not enough evidence to prove RFK Jr. doesn’t have a fetish for watching people die of infectious diseases.

And there never will be because you can’t prove a negative. See how that works?

The FDA has provided no evidence of this. Something of this gravity would ordinarily be published in a journal reviewed by others. That’s the mostly likely reason they didn’t. It wouldn’t withstand scrutiny.

"ICE outta New York!"

So proud of my city.
Happening now near Canal Street, federal agents had been staging inside a fed owned parking garage, now being confronted by a group of protesters. masked agents are looking on from above.

If you find the below surprising, please take a moment to pause.

Things *might* not get so bad that Miller succeeds in deporting African-, Latino-, & Asian-American citizens to Africa, Latin America, & Asia respectively, but don't doubt that he plans to make those things happen. Act accordingly.
A reminder for those who are not aware: "remigration" is the process of deporting all non-white people from a country. It includes citizens and is, by definition, ethnic cleansing.

And to be clear: this is not fake. I just screenshot it myself.

Suspensions are ricocheting around the legal immigration system in the last 48 hours. The broader picture so far has built out Trump's travel ban (the impact of which has been drowned out by other news).

Tl;dr: Miller and his team are working to block entire nationalities from getting legal status.

Alice Wong taught us that disabled people don’t just leave memories behind—they leave infrastructure. Lineages of care. Methods of collectivity, survival. She named the connective tissue that holds our communities together, even across death, even across the losses that come too fast and too often.

Everyone with a platform — even a microscopic one like mine — should use their megaphone to promote other people’s great work. Particularly the work that’s not already big or popular or successful.

Always promote great work when you see it.
Sometimes I see a very famous person plug a book or movie or other creative project that they're not involved in or benefiting from and I am SHOCKED in a good way. More of that would be... good. Bizarre how rare it is.

I didn't even know about this museum but it's sad to hear its future is in doubt.
Now, the CDC Museum's future is on the rocks. The museum doesn't have a director even though a former supervisor is trying to keep the doors open. One of the museum's most popular programs is Disease Detective Camp, a summer program for high school students 👇

Well, this would help explain the 50% mortality rate for when humans contract bird flu!

Guess I'll keep masking, given that it'll be a LONG WHILE before the US government would/will figure out & alert us that bird flu has found a way to go human-to-human spread.

But there's an even more important reason...
