The path to arrive at where we are has been paved by the steps it took to get here.
It's the height of anthropomorphism to construct animals having emotions as "human" as opposed to humans experiencing emotions as purely within the continuum of things living beings do.
as so often, the explanation is probably 'animals feel emotions that are similar to ours, and when we disregard the evidence to avoid 'anthromorphism' it's fundamentally ideological, not scientific'

This is truly terrifying. These processes are nerve wracking and have always felt like they could go wrong even if they often went fine (like my husband’s). Now for this to be an actual thing that’s happening is absolutely fucked.
I need everybody to read this and understand what’s going on. These are spouses of US citizens in the country legally. They have entry clearance and green cards, they’ve passed background checks and have no criminal records. ICE is taking them anyway.

It's not well enough understood that we got incredibly lucky with the timings in that a new vaccine technology had got to a trial ready state at that point in time and that there was a mature regulatory process to fast track things. The FDA is a goner now, so next time it will be worse for the USA.

They don't have to ban vaccines outright. They can just force people to jump through enough hoops to get vaccines that they eventually stop trying and give up.
The CDC has turned off its vaccine search tool.
The vaccines.gov site now gives an error when you enter a valid zip code.
They also removed text saying “Vaccines can help you stay healthy” and added a banner saying the site is being updated.

Can't use a straw
So many men go through life like that. You can play poker because it's right-coded, you can't enjoy fruity alcoholic drinks because they're women-coded, you can't lick an ice cream cone because it's gay-coded. All day, every day, choosing and judging things based on coding for narrow norms.
