True. Altho I do think that in Unbreakable you're introduced to him in such a sympathetic way that by the time he becomes who he is destined to be it's still a transformative shock, rather than knowing going in this is who the villain will become.

The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were disasters for the US. The wars in Gaza and Ukraine are disasters too. While the US has gotten bogged down in no-upside geopolitically plays, China has become the largest manufacturing behemoth in human history and the number one trading partner for most of Earth
