If birthright citizenship is destroyed through extra constitutional means, it officially ends any pretext of constitutional rule. It means Presidential powers have no actual legal limits. In such a future real conflict is inevitable

That’s how we should look at the Trump move on Venezuela. The US does not have the capacity or political will to invade Venezuela. Trump may lob some missiles or use drones but the regime will merely hope that Maduro falls of some manufactured political pressure, not of military might.

The US superpower is financialization. The dollar being the world reserve currency and forcing its way into nearly all global markets. Having the ability to cut countries in and make them rich (SK/Japan) or cut them out and make them poor.
December 4, 2025 at 12:33 AM
People misunderstand the military power the US has. The US lost wars in Vietnam, in Korea, in Iraq, in Afghanistan, and is poised to lose a major proxy war (along with the rest of NATO) in Ukraine. The US came into both world wars late and did not fight much compared to other powers.

The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were disasters for the US. The wars in Gaza and Ukraine are disasters too. While the US has gotten bogged down in no-upside geopolitically plays, China has become the largest manufacturing behemoth in human history and the number one trading partner for most of Earth

I mean the clown emperor is bragging about blowing up fishing boats in south america for fun, killing hundreds or more for no reason other than online posturing. So this is no surprise
Trump suggests Khashoggi had it coming: "You're mentioning someone that was extremely controversial. A lot of people didn't like that gentleman that you're talking about. Whether you like him or didn't like him, things happen. But he knew nothing about it. You don't have to embarrass our guest."
November 18, 2025 at 7:48 PM
What he means by “freedom” is social dominance over minority groups. Real democracy erodes their ability to make nonwhites into second class citizens. This has long been the argument of the south regionally and is now the explicit argument of the Republican Party at the national level.
Imagine the arrogance of coming to another country as an immigrant, becoming a citizen, and then having the audacity to publicly say you're ready to destroy their constitution.

He should have lost his citizenship awhile ago.

Hillary was the frontrunner years before, so was Biden. They had late challengers but won the nom and it wasn’t really close. Looks like it will be happening again in 2028. Newsom is probably the nominee unless something catastrophic happens
J-MART, on Newsom:

“.. Ask yourself: How many other potential candidates .. can transcend the political-pop culture divide ..?

“.. there may not be a modern political figure who was simultaneously so well-positioned to be his party’s nominee ..”

The elections last week proved that Trump's success in 2024 was best explained as a *dealignment* in politics, hastened by but not only due to inflation — but not a Trump *realignment*.
This week, polls showed POTUS slipping further w/ Gen Z and Latinos

The 2024 Trump "realignment" is over already
Claims of a conservative realignment of non-whites, the working class, and young voters have been highly exaggerated

That is why Reconstruction is such a key historical reference. America’s first attempt at biracial democracy was quickly drowned in ostensibly “race-neutral” laws and escalating white reactionary violence. It took a century to get the country back to that level of democracy.

There is absolutely nothing old or consolidated about *multiracial, pluralistic democracy* in America. It only started 60 years ago.

And the conflict over whether or not it should be allowed to endure and prosper has been the central fault line in U.S. politics ever since.
From 2022:

The US was not a true democracy until a few decades ago. Black people and Native Americans lived under totalitarian rule for the majority of American history. The inclusion of minority groups in US politics is one of the shocks that led to Trump.
Burns: The Old Testament says there’s nothing new under the sun. On July 4th, 1776, there was. Everybody up to that point had been under authoritarian rule. It was in the interests of their rulers that they be uneducated, that they be superstitious, that they be distracted by conspiracies…

Donald Trump is Joe Biden now

POTUS's job approval on prices is where Biden's was during peak inflation in 2022-23. Voters say 2:1 that Trump has made the economy worse. Oh, and consumer sentiment among independents hit a new all-time low in November, www.gelliottmorris.com/p/donald-tru...

This is about stealing oil and rare earths.
Trump says we are preparing to invade Nigeria. Apparently that’s what voters said they wanted in the exit polls. Trump: “We’re going to do things to Nigeria that Nigeria’s not gonna be happy about. Guns-a-blazin!”
November 6, 2025 at 3:50 AM
Trump’s threats against Nigeria are naked attempts of imperialism. Bomb the country, take the oil. Besides the obvious, they’d love to topple the new governments in the Sahel which kicked out France. Like almost everything the clown emperor does, this buffoonery will fail and they’ll turn elsewhere.

The new NBC national survey shows the Democratic advantage in the generic congressional trial heat growing since March from +1 to +8. The Republican advantage on the economy has essentially disappeared - dropping from 21 points in September 2023 to just 1 point now.

The realignment really began in 1964 when the Civil Rights Act was passed. That was the last time Democrats won white voters.
People keep asking this. I'd say: Riots. Crime. Vietnam. Four years of the Great Society that aren't looking Great.

Which is why Nixon wins. Is there something else?

Ronald Reagan began his “states rights” presidential campaign in Philadelphia, Mississippi - the site where 3 civil rights workers were murdered by the KKK. That wasn’t an accident. He used racially coded language like “welfare queens” to trigger white resentment of government programs.
People can't seem to grasp that difference, which is in part how the left started to lose the public (who to this day don't see Reagan the same way they do). "Reagan is the same as Trump" is like a free ad for Trump.
