To everyone saying that people in our military already know not to follow unlawful orders, how do you explain almost 100 civilians murdered on fishing boats in the Caribbean so far?

Trying to see if this has a name or anyone’s written on it; TikToks where women talk about make up or fashion for a bit and then say “ok now they’re gone” (or something) and then talk about politics and power?
Anyone know is this (style/trend) has a name?

Few things bug me more than higher ed leaders saying that we lost our mission and lost the trust of the public, when we have actually been the target of a decades-long smear campaign by the right wing that worked. The moment we’re losing our mission is right now, in capitulation.

Libraries purchase books. When you see a book at the library, it isn’t “free”

the library bought it.

which in turn means that the community bought it.

In other words, library books are not lost sales for authors and publishers; they’re positive sales. Active sales. Those are bought.

Alice was the first person to ever encourage my creative writing. She was a thoughtful editor and a beloved mentor. I learned so much about activism just by watching her move through the world. May her memory be a blessing to us all.

Alice Wong taught us that disabled people don’t just leave memories behind—they leave infrastructure. Lineages of care. Methods of collectivity, survival. She named the connective tissue that holds our communities together, even across death, even across the losses that come too fast and too often.

This is also an indication of how badly we need trauma informed care. It's like we've created widespread arrested development where people don't have to process their emotions, they can just distract themselves or get a chat bot to confirm their worst ideas.

No processing, just delusions.

This is wonderful for such a valuable archive to be given to a public municipal library.
