AOC: I want everybody to understand that the cuts to your health care are what’s paying for this. You get screwed over to pay a bunch of thugs in the street that are shooting mothers in the face.

Andor's Nemik eulogizes Renee Nicole Good.

I lifted work from excellent photojournalists to make this video, but it felt really urgent to get the message out and it will take me quite some time to do a credited version. Apologies.

Some thoughts on what Trump has done in Venezuela and what it might mean for US national security. Caveat: not a Latin America scholar so this is focused on US policy. Clearly huge consequences for Venezuela that others can address.

First, despite the buildup, I didn't think Trump would do it.

The most popular and enduring tax myth is that a flat tax would “simplify” the system.

Unless we tax every dollar, for every person, exactly the same (and give up on fairness), the rate applied at the end is the easy part; it’s the base that does all the work.

If you’re curious how likely it is you win the Powerball, imagine that winning involved dropping a golf ball from a helicopter and having to hit a one sq ft area.

One sq ft in a region the size of Manhattan south of 75th Street.

America now has Samizdat. What a day.
It's the least important element to this, but I find it fascinating on an aesthetic level too.

Americans are watching a bootleg broadcast that someone in Canada recorded off their TV. And people are copying it to various platforms (however imperfect visually) to get it out as widely as possible.

Six US intelligence sources told Reuters that Putin aims to seize all of Ukraine and restore control over former Soviet territories

This contradicts both the Kremlin's public denials and the Trump administration's insistence that Russia is interested in peace euromaidanpress.com/2025/12/20/u...
US intelligence say Putin wants Ukraine, Baltics, Poland, and more. Trump’s team says Russia wants peace
Meanwhile, the security guarantee proposal includes the deployment of European forces, potentially from countries Putin also wants.

Why Denmark's vaccine schedule works for Denmark — but not for the United States
With its vaccine schedule, “Denmark has made a values choice to accept preventable hospitalizations and illnesses that other countries have chosen to prevent.”

The Coke cost more on the Black side.
