I miss making art so much. It's like a part of myself is missing. I need to get past whatever mental blocks are stopping me from doing it. It's been years of burnout with no end in sight so I think I just have to draw regardless of how it feels to do so

Many full time creatives have “invisible safety nets” like bread-winning partners, trust funds, external support, etc. No shame on anyone, but it creates a false vision of success. The cost of going to cons alone on top of hoping to eat as a freelancer are untenable, IMO.
When people hear that I'm returning to part time work they often ask "are things not going well with your art?"
The problem really is things are going well, but the world is so unstable that I long for some consistency and income that I don't have to pay quarterly taxes on

Very happy with how my witch hat came out! I started with just a plain hat and sewed on the ribbons. The pentagram started out as just a twig wreath from the craft store, and I added twine to it to create the star shape. ✨️🧙🏻♀️🧹🪻

I've been having fun recently getting into rock painting, now that I have some cheap acrylic paint pens at my disposal (party leftovers!). There's a local rock hunt group where people hide and search for painted rocks. Haven't hid this particular guy yet... a bit too attached still!
