PAPERBACK GIVEAWAY!

I have an extra copy of my latest to give away. The illustrations came out really nice if I do say so myself!

It's here!

Roadkill is out in the world. I can't in good conscience recommend it to all readers. A sad and angry book. 90% of the animal characters are dead at the outset & the humans don't fare much better. But if you're in the mood for an unconventional eco-horror experience, links in comments!
Book cover for Roadkill by Helen Whistberry showing a bird, raccoon, and snake skeleton sprawled across a dark asphalt highway with yellow dotted line. The title is in large yellow letters that have blood streaming down them and out onto the road and animals. There is a dark and stormy sky in the background. Black and white illustration of the head and neck of a howling wolf in profile. Its mouth is wide open and a dark liquid is trickling from its mouth, snout, and eye.

The Gyrfalcon frustrates me so much 🦅! I’ve spent months in the Arctic ❄️, and I still DREAM of seeing one 👀.
Drawing it without having seen it feels almost like tempting fate 😬

#birdtober day 10 is the Arctic Tern. These guys have such amazing lines they deserved an action pose!

A digital painting of an arctic tern against a blue sky in gray and white with sweeping wing lines and a tail that sweeps outward in long arcs flies towards the viewer, red orange beak open. Further away and behind it another flies to the right and down towards the water, its feet tucked up under it and tail sweeping behind.

Oh I probably didn't word that clearly. I meant when you post something yourself, it would be nice to disallow not only quote posts but reposts to prevent people sharing it widely. I do enjoy being to turn off reposts in my follow feed though to cut down on the noise.

Random animal facts I enjoy:

Horse teeth take up more space in their skull than their brain does.

A natural predator of the moose is the orca.

The chemical compound that makes stink bugs smell bad is the same compound that makes cilantro taste like soap.

It seems weird that you can turn off quote posts but not reposts. There's definitely times when it would be a great option.

"Sparrow And The Skull"

This is the only hand embroidery on wallpaper full image artwork I have ever made. I love it but it was incredibly fragile to make. I've only shown it a couple of times because I couldn't part with it, but it is in my webshop.

I wonder if I should offer this design for pre-order? Would you get one?
