Nice, one of the things I enjoyed in design school was layout and typesetting! Now, I work as a medical lab assistant. It's better than retail, it's unionized, and the pay is reasonable... really can't complain, just wish I didn't have to work full-time and could spare more time/energy for art!

That's rough. D: Advertising can be soul-sucking. Though I went to school for art I wound up going back to school later on for something totally different, just so I could make a living. Making enough to live on from artistic pursuits was just not doable for me. I admire those who do though!

Same! I also lapsed out of art post-university, some years after but yeah. I think commercial art/graphic design school did a real number on me mentally.
