I'm not even wholly opposed to this on principle, if they only collected DOB through a known & trusted system (say the govt provided portal or itsme) and then immediately deleted the data after recording a Y/N value I'd actually be fine with it. I'd grumble a little but I'd get over it.

What are we willing to bet they've half arsed it and won't even have an option for European users to do it with their e-ID certificates. If they've implemented that properly and they are only accessing DOB, yeah sure, whatever, fine, at least they're doing it properly.
