We’ve been waiting for nearly two years for the State Senate to take a vote on our bill. If they have additional proposals, we’re not the ones stopping them.

Btw our legislation includes balanced tax stabilization to help all residents AND additional tax relief for seniors & small businesses.
As Mayor Wu answers questions on the taxpayer shift proposal on Reddit, Senate President Spilka issues statement defending Sens. Brownsberger and Collins, who killed the proposal last year

This is a really important thing about speed cameras. They actually do change driver behavior and force people to slow down. They should be an important tool in creating safer streets *along with* design changes.
When cameras are installed, they issue many violations in the first month, followed by a steep decline in the second month. This suggests that the cameras effectively deter speeding by changing underlying driver behavior rather than relying on sustained revenue extraction.

I’m eternally ashamed of the leaders of this country and yet simultaneously so fucking proud of many of my fellow Americans

I get so humbled and so emotional when I think of everything our friends and neighbors have done and continue to do and I’m honored to help any way I can
Community members in Kenner, Louisiana, activate rapid-response teams to follow Greg Bovino and his Border Patrol goons through the neighborhood. They alert residents and warn them not to open their doors unless CBP has a court-ordered warrant.

I have never had shingles myself but the consensus among people I know who have is exactly what Kelly says here: "worst pain of my life."

Get the vaccine. The side effects are just your immune system doing it's thing for a short time after encountering the vaccine. It's normal human biology.
PSA: if anyone in your life is trying to dissuade you from getting the shingles shot, you should probably assume that person hates you, and wants you to suffer. There is literally no other explanation.

Shingles hurts worse than childbirth. Worse than knee surgery. Worst pain of my life.
I am baffled by this because I have had so many friends with shingles and NONE of them made it sound fun. Not one. A vaccine that made me absolutely miserable for 48 hours would still be a huge improvement over the mildest case of shingles I've heard of. (Also it made me tired for 1 day.)

Most publications with paywalls are cheaper per month than a cup of coffee, or a magazine, or even a music or film subscription. If you don't want to pay for them that's fine but don't complain about the paywall, would you walk into a shop and say 'HEY WHY IS THAT STUFF IN THE WINDOW NOT FREE?'

They're using the confinement box, one of the most horrific methods of CIA torture in the post-9/11 black sites, against migrants now. This is the direct result of the lack of consequences for the architects of the torture program. Either there will be criminal penalties for this or it will expand.

Jared Kushner's involvement was "not mentioned in Paramount's press release on Monday morning about its $108 billion bid, nor were participating sovereign wealth funds from Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi and Qatar."

fancy that
Jared Kushner is part of Paramount's hostile bid for Warner Bros. Discovery
Paramount is telling WBD shareholders that it has a smoother path to regulatory approval than does Netflix.
