One thing i'll add is that even if you accept that at no point in the past 15 years did Platner bother to figure out what his tattoo meant (plausible but dubious), a guy who is dumb enough to not bother looking up the symbol you drunkenly got tattooed on his chest probably shouldn't be a senator
