I fought in Afghanistan as a Marine.

Danes were in Helmand before Marines were.

43 Danes gave the last full measure of devotion because the U.S. asked and we had been attacked.

I’m ashamed this man is the commander in chief. This isn’t how you treat friends who bled with you.
Trump on NATO: "I've always said, will they be there if we ever needed them? That's really the ultimate test. I'm not sure of that. We've never needed them. They'll say they sent some troops to Afghanistan and this or that. And they did. They stayed a little back, off the front lines."

There you have it, the Board of Peace is nothing more than a corrupt real estate deal dressed up as diplomacy with the sole purpose of enriching Trump and his favoured cronies.
Trump makes concluding remarks. He says Gaza ceasefire push began because he is “a real estate person at heart, and it’s all about location, and I said, ‘look at this location, on the sea, look at this beautiful piece of property’”.

Denmark is a quiet but substantial cog in the global economy - including the US economy.
US treasury secretary Scott Bessent said this morning that Denmark is “irrelevant”. But as Elisabeth Braw wrote last year, Trump and Vance shouldn’t underestimate the small Scandinavian nation.
Beware Denmark’s quiet power
Trump and Vance see the small Scandinavian nation as a pushover, but Denmark is a business giant. They may regret messing with it

I keep returning to one passage from Trump’s Davos speech. “You need ownership to defend something,” he said. “You can’t defend it on a lease. Who the hell wants to defend a licence agreement, or a lease?”
Taken seriously, this logic is devastating. 1/4

So it turns out that Trump is a leader with imperalist desires who is very sensitive to market pressures. That's the easier case then.

Can we now turn our attention again to dealing with Xi & Putin, leaders with imperialist-hegemonic desires much less sensitive to market forces?

All it takes for Trump to change his mind is for some journalist to ask him whether he really means it.

The problem with Trump is that journalists have incredible policy formation power now that a single leading question can give him an idea, which then becomes policy instantly in a live interview
It is very naive to think that the tensions over Greenland have been reduced, along with the threat it represents, after Trump's speech.

Latching on to a single phrase, glossing over the rest of it, is sticking ones head in the sand.

Hoping it just goes over isn't a strategy.
