„The problem of the European industrial base is not us, it's China“.

Jacob Helberg is very much right on this. Yes, Trump’s tariffs have made life for a number of European exporters tougher. But the primary threat to Europe‘s industrial base is from China.

„MPs, government officials and military figures have all publicly and privately expressed concerns about the security risks of them going ahead“.

Absolutely reckless for Starmer government not to take into account these concerns in decision.

That Ming Yang blathers „We fully support the government's mission to become a clean energy superpower“ is one thing. Another would be for Ed Miliband to fall for this sweet talk, jeopardize UK security and help destroy the European wind power industry.

It‘s useful these days to pay attention to where UK China policy goes awfully wrong.

This is a prime example. The plan to rely on Ming Yang for critical energy infrastructure (the UK‘s largest wind farm) is reckless. Especially since there are European alternatives.

Ming Yang says up to 1,500 jobs could be created if plans for the facility at Ardersier go ahead.

Dass viele Schlagzeilen vor dem Autogipfel von Verbrenneraus und Flottengrenzwerten handeln, zeigt, dass wir den Kern des Problems nicht annährend richtig beschreiben.

„Rearm Europe“ will fail unless EU members come together to work with partners to do whatever it takes to break the dependence on China on critical raw materials.
If anyone had doubts about the urgency, Beijing dispelled those very effectively today.

You've probably seen a lot of angry posts today about how "Angela Merkel blamed Poland and the Baltics for the Ukraine war" in a recent interview.

They're far off the mark — she did no such thing! 👇

The glorification of the slaughtering of civilians.

Brought to Berlin streets two years after 7 October by a supposed „Alliance of Queer-Feminists“.

Disgusting.

„Huawei and ZTE have retained 30 to 35 per cent of the European mobile infrastructure market, down only 5 to 10 percentage points from 2020“.

Don‘t think it‘s blowback but execution of Xi‘s longstanding priorities.

Nokia & Ericsson get squeezed out of the few crumbs they still had on Chinese market.

All the while, Huawei & ZTE have retained 30 to 35 per cent of the European mobile infrastructure market. Huawei 50%+ of German 5G access network.

Absolute economic security folly.

Orbán's way to say thank you to Angela Merkel for first having shielded him from pushback against his illiberal state agenda within EPP & EU allowing him to entrench his rule & then having served as convenient bogeywoman for his cultural wars (& receiver of refugees from HUN).

Unhappy camper.
Smotrich is right to put his remaining hopes in the „obstinacy of the enemy“. Hamas may indeed yet again deliver for Israel‘s far right.
