Personal gripe: the whole saying is "A few bad apples SPOIL THE BUNCH." Somehow this has transformed into "a few bad apples" being a phrase indicating "not a big deal", when the whole point is it IS a big deal because EVERYONE HAS GONE BAD THROUGH EXPOSURE

Just FYI, here are my personal beliefs on the use of large scale violence.

1. Violence tends to be self-replicating, and so should be avoided as much as possible.

All violence has the potential to entrench itself.

I know the temptation is to just scroll past this with a “not surprised” reaction, but you should read this if you have the emotional bandwidth to encounter horrifying slurs and violent sentiments, because there’s an important takeaway: extremism is often performed to reinforce an in-group’s bond.

.... and also, if we had even just focused on clean air in medical facilities and those unavoidable public locations, one-way masking would be far more effective and more people would feel free to get health care and participate in civic life.

I've never seen a covid cautious person do more than say that masking should be required in medical settings, public transportation, and unavoidable public locations (like the DMV or courthouses or voting sites).
