this was very hard to watch. impossible to not notice a few things:

1. if this lady had been 10% smarter she would've gotten away with it
2. imagine how crazy you have to be to generate enough body cam footage for a 90 min documentary
3. fuck crump, sharpton, & the rest of the ambulance chasers
The subject of the new documentary “The Perfect Neighbor,” Susan Lorincz, interpreted the ordinary play of children in her neighborhood—who were predominantly Black—as an ongoing crime, or a conspiracy to drive her insane.
The Lessons of “The Perfect Neighbor”
A new documentary, now on Netflix, shows how disconnected from one another Americans have become—and also how cohesive some of us still are.

Dismantling the Institutional Review Board (IRB), that oversees all human subjects research, is bad. Really bad.
The entire HR department at the CDC is gone. Everyone at the IRB, which makes sure studies are conducted ethically and rigorously, and the ethics office, which oversee conflicts of interest for CDC leaders and advisory committee members, were also let go.

Every time this comes up I feel compelled to mention that the KKK was moribund when Birth of a Nation came out, and the version most people are familiar with emerged from the fandom around the film
Wouldn't be the first time holywood had an uncomfortable relationship with Fascism.

Lest we forget that Birth of a Nation and Triumph of will are supposedly the founding texts of great cinematography or something.
the structure of the format is bad enough but I also get the sense that it is wreaking havoc with the cultivation of talented or even competent writers. a lot of TV is just mediocre now, bc filling the 8 ep structure requires hitting specific beats and patterns to "optimize the viewer experience"

An ICE agent, who is being arrested for drunk driving and nearly killing his little kids & others, tries to stop the arrest by racially profiling the officers arresting him. Amazing to watch the courtesy given to him as he is belligerent and uncooperative

1 - the evidence you think is gonna exonerate you and implicate me doesn't exist
2- if it did and I have the only record of it, why would I give it to you
3 - escalating this issue is only going to raise the question of why a project leader doesn't have basic awareness of their own project
baffled by my coworker's attempt to make me look bad for not following up with them, but they have no idea what the project timeline is or that I can't follow up because they haven't completed their task yet. so they're asking me for my notes to validate their inaccurate assertion

Palestine is everywhere
Earlier today I was listening to one of the hosts from Here and Now repeatedly ask a resident from Southeast Chicago whether throwing rocks at ICE was justified. And finally she just said, "They invaded our community. They have machine guns."
Wow. New Economist poll finds only 34% of Americans say ICE's use of force has been justified, vs 51% who say it's been excessive. And they oppose agents wearing masks by 52-35.

Yep, ICE is becoming a pariah agency, and that's gaining deep penetration in the culture:
