Classic AD&D megadungeons: Undermountain, Temple of Elemental Evil, Lost City - these sprawling expanses of tunnels and rooms filled with the most random monsters make no ecological sense but are such a part of old school AD&D

MCs I usually figure out before I write but for secondary and background, I’m VERY much a placeholder namer.

I always go with something like their role in the story or some other description surrounded by brackets.

Hmm... I have actual word use a few times in Philosopher Queens but 2 are spoilers and 3rd doesn't fit the vibe.

In Felcrown, I do have vibes without the word, so let's go with that! Digs grows disillusioned with the extravagant treatment she gets being honored every year by the city.

But as far more food than all of them could possibly eat was served, she wondered how many could have been fed with this. How many could be helped in a far more direct way than vague inspiration of annually cheering on this random group of people. “Is this… actually meat?” Grithnelyn asked. “Yeah,” Luzz said. “I told you they feed us well.” Grithnelyn stared at her plate in awe. “I have never had meat in my entire life.” Everyone went silent. She tentatively took a bite of the steak, and then her eyes rolled and her mouth hung open. “Do you like it, dear?” Luzz asked. “Oh, yes! I wish I was rich enough to eat like this all the time. My goodness!” Digs cleared her throat. “Actually, I had a really big meal earlier and last time the steak didn’t agree with me. Grithnelyn, would you care to have mine?” She hoped these lies were better delivered than the disaster with the Iarathas.

Katie’s hand lifts up, takes the earbud from me, and places it back in. Never opening her eyes, she smiles and twirls her finger in a circle indicating “Keep going.” Then she wiggles and snuggles in deeper into my shoulder, placing a hand on my bicep. She moves her cheek slightly against the fabric and strokes my arm with her thumb. Her voice is a soft whisper, “I like this sweater. Mmm, soft. And keep playing for me, please.” It is such a small gesture, but in that moment my world changes. Everything but the two of us and that backseat could cease to exist and I would not even notice.

My fellow romance writers, I have a favor to ask. I know that the genre favors younger women characters and that's fine. BUT. Could we please stop describing women over the age of 40 with stuff like "still attractive" like it's a surprise? It's kind of exhausting & def unnecessary.

Other than living long enough to publish all the stories I want to write, an odd goal is to resonate emotionally enough that my characters are so popular in fan fiction circles that a significant number of people know them more from other fan fiction than my original writing.

Haven't been on much with work getting busy and 2nd job teaching going again, but in my lunch hour writing, I worked on a Felcrown villain reveal today that is so very delicious.

Readers are going to absolutely love it or hate it (maybe both?). It's a ways into the story, but I'm giddy about it. 😁

The climate of Atalantis is quite mild, so most clothing is made of light linen & leaves a lot of skin uncovered.

Casual clothes feature a skirt called a to'ok for boys/men, similar to an Egyptian shendyt, usually worn shirtless. Girls/women wear a top called a ka'am, 🧵1/6

In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties.

The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized.

I'm good at writing sweet moments. Whether it's people in love, family, or friends - little touching moments where someone shows they really care for the other person.

Also from my D&D DMing & freelancing days, I'm good at creative worldbuilding, especially when it comes to other planes/dimensions.

The biggest lie my MC has ever told?

"I'm fine."

That applies to *a lot* of my MCs across many stories.😬

A more specific one, however, is Rachel from my rock romance/drama lying to her dead girlfriend's family: "She didn't leave a note."

She lied to hide her shame and it has haunted her since.
