Thanks for reminding us how inhumane the ruling class is, CNBC. This also isn't a "successful person" but an exploitive shithead.

Random "hot" take: I prefer to make "plain" mashed potatoes with just cream & salt as a kind of balance to the spices and herbs in other dishes. I always use Yukon Gold potatoes and do the boil/mash method. I also keep them a -little- bit "lumpy" on purpose because I prefer the texture.

I think there's been a concerted to effort to portray people who make art of all sorts as basically dilettante's who only make art because they don't have anything else to do. Which is not even remotely the reality. It's actually a rather Victorian throwback.
There’s something in here about why people feel so entitled to use ChatGPT to “write novels” and “make art”, because they clearly view these honed skills as the domain of the elite and not something people spend a fuckton of time and energy to get good at.
Just saw someone claim that authors who want to be paid for their work are "class traitors" because we "only let the wealthy" read our books, and I think I need to go into the woods to scream into the night for a bit.

It's $5, not your first-born child! I need that $5 for health insurance!

I’m really excited to share that I won the Frank R. Paul Award for Best Magazine Cover Art! My painting Stasis, a self-portrait about invisible illness, was featured on the cover of Uncanny Magazine Issue 58 🖤

It's been wild. I had someone tell me they're an "archivist" not a thief and also that librarians are "grifters" because of how much e-books cost. These same people will also complain about corporations endlessly mining old IP's but then also claim creatives shouldn't retain copyright.

This story is giving me the vibes of the stories you hear about men getting their "crazy" wives locked up because they've been found inconvenient in some way.

The only thing that would actually shock me is if this isn't the case. It's also eerily similar to what was done to his dad, they gave him a fake office to work in as he declined.
oh this is absolutely what i think. i think they feed him fake polls and outright AI slop
At this point, I wonder if he isn't lying when he says he has "my highest Poll Numbers, ever" since it's entirely possible that's what his aides are telling him. It's quite likely that there's an entire Potemkin village built around Trump right now.

I dunno, I feel like it's a bad idea to the let a weird vampiric freak who thinks everything he doesn't like is the anti-christ have power over...anything.

Decided to make gingerbread dough for cookies and am reminded of all the recipes that call for the teeniest amount of ginger. They're GINGERbread. Imho if you can't feel even a little ginger heat then what are we doing here.

I would like a massive moratorium on batshit tech bros naming their companies after Tolkien things. Y'all are nuts and he would have HATED you. A lot.

Huge Face/Off show nerd/fan. I rewatch it whenever I'm looking for inspiration because the whole way they have to create their pieces is incredible to me. And thankfully they dropped the reality show drama stuff after like S3 because really artists trying to make stuff in so little time was enough.
one of their models the competitors regularly did makeup on (Nayeli Morales) had big eyes like her too and she always looked SO COOL

🙏 You can support us as we cultivate a queer and trans community in Boston with events like these right now!

We're trying to raise $100K to get us one step closer to our dream space, and you can help us get there: secure.givelively.org/donate/92-39...

Like I said, librarians are awesome and telling me you think they're "grifters" makes me very worried about you.
I actually gasped when I saw that this resource guide was put out there to help folks. *That's* what I'm talking about.

Librarians are the freaking best, y'all. Book it. Done.
Sometimes I think it’s going to be the librarians who will save us all.

In light of the fact that our health workers and care infrastructure need a break this holiday season, too, here's a guide from @cspinet.org on common cooking bloopers to avoid during the holidays.

Golden Girls: Love is Golden is out TODAY! What would be REALLY cool is if you bought it at your local bookstore like, say, Bookstore Plus here in Lake Placid NY where I am for the holiday. Shopping small does wonders for your community as well as your SOUL. Now go forth and spread the love.

I'm sorry, someone in my mentions was just calling librarians grifters and that "both sides" of I guess "don't steal from artists" are the same? Honestly, I worry about some of you. Your reasoning skills are bad.

As someone who started my comics career at Vertigo, the "mature reader" imprint, it always makes me sad when people treat subjects like sexual assault & abuse as "easy" tropes to make a story "grimdark". I really don't think that's a great approach or attitude for what should be obvs. reasons.
November 25, 2025 at 9:42 PM
I always love the people who think they are dunking on me because they "haven't heard" of me or my work. I absolutely do not care about that! I do niche, primarily comics writing, and my own weird art. I have never aspired to be a household name & fame seems toxic.

If you want artists to be able to choose to share their work cheaper or even for free, the thing you should be doing is advocating for things like universal healthcare, disability support, social safety nets and UBI. Stealing their work means that we're even less likely to even make it & share it.

One of the worst things the internet emboldened was Bored Dudes Who Need Hobbies because now they spend the limited life time they have being obnoxious, entitled, doorknobs spouting bad opinions everywhere. They don't appreciate creativity because they resent not having any.
