Maria has been accused over the years of fabricating her story that she had gone to the FBI. After finding the document in the trove, I called her. She broke down in tears.

“I’ve waited 30 years. I can’t believe it. They can’t call me a liar anymore.”

Here we go. Elise Stefanik changed everything she was, everything she believed in, for power. And in the end, Trump endorsed another dude and Elise is out.
Shameful

I don’t know why, but somehow the appearance of David Brooks in the Epstein files leaves me incandescently angry.

I’m not a big fan of Brooks’ work, but if that motherfucker ever publishes another word suggesting that liberals have deficient personal character, I have something to remind him of.

It's actually pretty impressive to go to the heads of the big oil companies with your big new idea and have them go, 'dude, that's a bit dark for our tastes. too much carnage, too many crimes'. www.politico.com/news/2025/12...
Trump administration asking US oil industry to return to Venezuela — but getting no takers
The administration’s outreach to the industry, previously unreported, is the latest sign the White House is dreaming of a post-Maduro future for Venezuela.

Trump: "Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled ... It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the USA all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us."

The U.S. has 8X Canada's population
Employment growth since April ("Liberation Day"):
United States: +119,000*
Canada: +166,200

* The U.S. number is expected to be revised down.

April - “Liberation Day” right? It looks like tariffs killed jobs almost immediately
“.. The US economy is in a hiring recession. Almost no jobs have been added since April.

“Wage gains are slowing.

“710,000 more people are unemployed now versus November 2024.”

I have bad news about farming
I have some bad news about the Pentagon.
FOX: The ACA has never been more popular. Republicans are losing on this messaging. How do you talk to Americans who say the Republicans don't have a plan?

REP. BUDDY CARTER: You explain it by explaining it's not working. When the govt has to subsidize a program, that means it's not working

I do wonder why Trump wants to kill tourism and why Republicans don’t care that he’s doing this
What I get from the administration’s absurd plan to treat international visitors like enemies of the state is that tourism related industries are a little light on their ballroom donations.

I can't remember who described American health care as:

A provider charges for a service
The insurance co. (may) force them to discount it
The insurance co. (may) pay part of that
The patient is billed the balance

... and literally no one can tell beforehand what *any* of those costs will be.
Except, patients have _never_ been consumers. That's not how any of this works. Have you ever tried to get a hospital to tell you what a procedure will cost? Or your insurance company? Or your doctor? None of them know. /1
Roger Marshall: "We want patients to become consumers again. We want patients to see what the actual prices are. We believe that if we would add the price tags to this bill, that it would save the country a trillion dollars a year."
