Today is a good day to make Mychal Threets proud of you. Read a book that brings you joy. Some people read by listening. Some people read by touch. Some people read with their eyeballs. All reading is reading. Remember your meds and have some water!

No matter how big or bad, I have always “pushed through” obstacles w/sheer force of will. Yet, a grocery run now can leave me collapsed in a sweating, shaking heap of anesthesia- grade fatigue & fog. I don’t expect most folks to get it, but occasional acknowledgement that this is hard would be nice.

@philipandrewhoover.bsky.social writes that he often feels that he’s living a double life. How can this sick side of him be so central, so enormous, yet so unseen by those who know and love him? bit.ly/4pf80g7

#WaysToHelp I found a page with a list of book drives for various reservation schools and other needs. You order the book and have it shipped to the school/site. I used my favorite, @roomofonesownbooks.bsky.social, but bookshop.org has free shipping today, you could take advantage of that!

A Google software engineer won his battle against MetLife to receive disability benefits for Long Covid.

This is huge

Long Covid has a lot of stigma attached to it and it can be hard to get disability.

You’re told to “try harder”.

It’s “not that bad”.

You can “still work”.

Not everyone can

A concussion has left me with major light sensitivity anyway, and driving at night and on rainy days is absolutely excruciating. I really hope this leads to some safer alternatives for everyone.
I wish we, like, regulated shit nowadays. Between car bloat, blinding headlines, and neighbourhoods packed with rental suites but no on-property parking, driving is an absolute nightmare now.
