This is the second largest payout from a private university to the Trump admin yet, second only to Columbia’s $200m

This a thousand times. Friend from my old hometown asked about my hearing this morning. While it was a single text, it penetrated the loneliness.

Living alone with even mild impairment sucks. Loneliness magnifies illness.

Check in on your people. It’s prevention & protection.

"A recent review of dozens of studies performed by Cornell University found that 51 of them showed positive outcomes for trans people receiving gender-affirming care. ... [N]o studies examined by the university concluded that gender transition or affirmation 'causes overall harm' to recipients."
A report published by the HHS pushes the dubious claim that gender-affirming care for transgender youth does more harm than good — a statement that flouts years of studies concluding otherwise. The report derides gender-affirming care by reclassifying it as “pediatric sex-rejecting procedures.”
HHS Packed Anti-Trans Activists Into Report Undermining Gender-Affirming Care
Studies on youth-based gender-affirming care consistently show it is highly beneficial for those who receive it.

I don’t know, I thought after Long Covid effectively ended my chance at a directing career, ruined my health, my energy, my ability to eat a lot of foods, and my body, it would seem pretty obvious why I don’t want to get it again, even going so far as to sacrifice (the horror!) bars and restaurants.
