I'm never going to turn down a purple suggestion, lol! I think you're right about the microphone color overwhelming it but what about a lighter purple?

This is some threads sorted by color - you could go with something like the White Lavender, super subtle, or a little brighter but still light.

Shades of DMC thread colors in mauves, purples, and blues.

The bit you can see right at the top of his right shoulder - the fuzzy bit - is the end result of all those loops.

She's been like this for over an hour (I did actually move the embroidery from under her cheek). My motivation to do chores was low anyway...I'm just gonna read fic on my phone, I guess.

I send my fics to a couple people while in progress for character/setting/plot feedback, and I tweak based on that but I don't really do second+ drafts. Then it's off to beta. While that's happening I make the moodboard. Then I make beta changes and post!
