We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.

Speaking with a restoration expert about my poor beautiful pinball table that the removal men broke in front of my horrified eyes.

Luckily, he says it’s a simple replacement job. It was already a refurb and should have had nicer glass than this, which it’ll now be getting. I am relieved.

Hell, I'll stand by LR as being a concept that they should've doubled down on to make it something special. Like, the idea of a rogue-like version of LR is something I really want to visit. A world with limited resources, down to the number of monsters in the world? That could be a unique sell.

13-2 and Lightning Returns do turn things around, but 13 was just tedium. Hallway after hallway after hallway with a bit of leeway near the end. And a story so full of holes, it needed an entire sequel to explain it, not to mention important plot details being buried in a codex.

I think it was either Final Fantasy XIII or Sonic 06.

I have a friend who defends XIII with "actually the combat system is good", and I'm convinced it's Stockholm Syndrome.
Another friend thinks Sonic 06 is so bad, it's funny. I can't argue that, I just feel it's so bad it's insulting personally.
