One of the many reasons why The Eagle was my favourite 'comic' during the late 50s to 60s. Myself, and I guess thousands of opther gained much knowledge from L.Ashwell Wood's cutaways. Poring over them for hours and hours. More here on Flickr: flic.kr/s/aHsjrduJUs

Cutaways by L.Ashwell Wood from the pages of The Eagle (Vol 1), the seminal British comic paper weekly. While the front two pages were dedicated to the thrilling and lusciously illustrated adventures ...

The only reason my great grandfather was not an illegal immigrant was because the very concept that immigration could be "legal" or "illegal" did not exist when he crossed the border.

make intial version. send initial version. receive comments on initial version. make revised version. send revised version. 'why have you not responded to comments on initial version?' consider walking into sea.

a couple months ago I was in a situation with very opaque and arcane bureaucratic rules and a staffer who simply could not complete the cognitive task of explaining them. couldn't model the pov of someone who didn't already know the rules, couldn't ID and collate the facts, couldn't find nouns

Much has been written about potential safety benefits of AVs. Given the lack of AV data transparency, I cannot speak to whether, or to what degree, AVs are safer than an average human driver. What I can say:

This is the wrong question.

We Still Don’t Know if Robotaxis Are Safer Than Human Drivers
And even if self-driving technology proves to be less dangerous, there are many better ways to improve traffic safety and prevent fatal crashes.

I've always liked 30 Rock's "none of this is that serious, your TV friends are gonna be fine, go have fun" approach. Do some silly shit, fulfill some impossible dreams, roll the credits
Given that apparently the Stranger Things finale was meh (idk, didn't watch it, just the scuttlebutt) and we're not that far removed from the disastrous GOT finale that retroactively made everyone have never cared about the show:

What's the *best* ending to a show you've ever seen? Quote/reply etc

nothing, utterly nothing on this earth, is more "lib-pilled" than co-opting the boundless agony of slavery to make a sassy lil dunk on someone who's failed to be the exact same kind of demmycrat as you
Incredibly stupid, but also so lib-pilled to put a sticker on Trump's face while a slaveholder is staring right at you
Department of Interior says if you put a sticker over Trump's face on your national park entrance pass, the pass will be invalidated.
Meanwhile Trump's decision to put his face on the passes is being challenged in court
