Please see all the actual Black folk commenting on this. No one needs to take a bearded middle aged white guys word for it.

Black folk have been talking about ”digital Black face“ for at least two decades, IIRC. And those clear eyed warning went unheeded.

Remember those times i said we were headed for an epistemic crisis because bad people were gonna use deepfakes to make propaganda & conspiracy theories & destabilize consensus reality-making & how the central paradigm of "generative AI" enables, encourages, & was indeed built on this premise?

Yeah.
This person is one hundred percent correct and it’s scary af. We will never “media literacy” our way out of this as a society. We are about to reap the whirlwind when it comes to misinformation, disinformation, and informational warfare.

These people want slaves . They enjoy the trauma porn .

They do not want to be efficient , they want to be able to do this to people
Absolutely obsessed with framing your employees sleeping on the floor as a humble brag

“Look how hard my team works” no dude you’re just bad at project management.

Andrew Cuomo’s campaign just posted — and quickly deleted — this AI-generated ad depicting “criminals for Zohran Mamdani.”

Features a Black man in a keffiyeh shoplifting, an abuser, a trespasser, a trafficker, a drug dealer, and a drunk driver all declaring support for Mamdani.
I was shy and introverted. I am still shy and introverted. 💀💀
Yall remember what you were like as kids?

They built an entire program to make it so they never have to suffer the indignity of watching a Black lead again. It’s amazing.

I don’t know if there’s a more perfect illustration of the utter fucking nonsense that creative pollution by AI will produce than this choice to illustrate the power of Paramount’s new “localization” and “customization” technology by face-swapping Brad Pitt into the lead role of GET OUT

People be having long COVID. Hordes of people. I notice in my professional & personal life, the brain fog & the toll it's taken on people's bodies, they're not admitting why they've never been at their best since that last of many COVID infections.

Okay, no, seriously: who's got the device that disrupts all "smart glasses"— and only the smart glasses— in a 300 foot radius?
New: a $60 mod to Meta's Ray-Ban glasses disables the privacy LED light. This is supposed to light when people are filming with the glasses. We bought the mod, verified it works. Now you can never be sure whether someone wearing Meta Ray-Bans is filming you or not

A $60 Mod to Meta’s Ray-Bans Disables Its Privacy-Protecting Recording Light

Regarding the post I just rekeeted, the person who created the meme & the person who skeeted it shouldn't have done so. They are not making the point they're trying to make. Obama's Black ex-staffers aren't the ones who are trying to get us to vote for Nazi Tattoo Guy. His white ex-staffers are. smh

It's almost like you have to fight for our votes like everyone else. Yes, we, especially Black women, tend to vote for harm reduction either way. But it's so much better when we're voting for someone instead of against someone. We're more likely to donate and volunteer. Too many take us for granted.
"Black organizers had noticed gaps in the campaign’s strategy for reaching Black voters. To address them, they led canvasses in working-class Black neighborhoods...By early October, Mamdani had taken a commanding lead over Cuomo among Black voters"

As someone who was poor as recently as last year, when I was out of work, who grew up in a working-class family, I should be firmly in the wheelhouse for the “kitchen table, working class appeal” demographic. If anything, the assumption is the opposite. Why do you think that’s the case?
Daughters of the Dust is at the top of my all time favorite movies list. It's so beautiful and breathtaking. I first saw it when I was in middle school. I want to say I saw it on PBS, but I could be misremembering. I was so happy when I found it on DVD.
You ever heard of Julie Dash? Some of you undoubtedly have, but quite a few I'd imagine not.

Julie Dash is the first Black woman (ever) to have a full-length film with a theatrical release in the United States.

In 1991.

There's a book as well.

Julie Dash turns 73 years old today

'Cause please know if you throw me under the bus, I am going to pop every one of your tires so you can go careening off a cliff.

I want more people to care that SNAP benefits are being cut off on November 1. 40% of SNAP beneficiaries are children. This is callous and vile.
